Concentrating
My son was connecting with his friends in U.S. after a long day of sight-seeing in Florence back in the summer of 2012. It was a hot day there so we closed the drapes to keep the room cool since the air conditioner wasn't quite working. I was surprised to find out we had created a very beautiful environment for painting.

Rest
Reading Christmas Choir Program
I attended my friend's German choir performance during the Christmas time of 2013 and caught this scene of a senior man reading the choir program before the performance. It struck me deeply as in that celebrated joyful time, he came alone by himself, sat there alone, and tried to read the small fonts on the printed program.

Renaissance Fair - 2
Another picture from the Renaissance Fair, I love to see all the people dressed up and immersed themselves into the Medieval time. As an artist, I found there are so many wonderful subjects that I can paint from. Definitely it's the place I will visit more often.

Renaissance Fair
An interesting picture I shot when I visited the Renaissance Fair last summer. This young girl dressed up with the Medieval costume. I love the vivid colors and texture of her clothes, with her angel face under the full sun. Painting her made me feel like I'm back to the scene again.

Carmel
Carmel is a beautiful young woman, she posed for us a while back. Now that I am focused on the figurative painting, I found her photo reference and painted her out. I am very happy with the result !
Man with headdress
Another portrait painting. I really like the headdress he was wearing and his facial structure. He is a perfect model.
Curly Joy
I have been procrastinating on updating my blog due to my busy school and work schedules. Now we are in 2014 and I want to make sure I have a fresh start with my art career. Sharing the paintings I did in late 2013, it helps me to organize my work better. You can see that I am working on mastering the portrait / figurative domain.
This painting has been selected by the Bold Brush Painting Competition FAV 15% in September 2013.
